About Me

I am located in Greene County, Iowa and teach 3rd grade at Paton-Churdan CSD.  My wonderful husband, Schyler and I live on my family farm with our sons, Adam and Luke, a flock of chickens and our Great Pyrenees, Bentley.  I love hazelnut coffee, hiking and spending time with my family.

My Story

I was first introduced to the world of photography as a child--my dad, a hobby photographer, loved capturing the landscape of Southern Utah.  As I got older, he turned his hobby into a business, King Design, and I became more interested in taking photos.  While in college, I decided to get a bit more serious and took several courses on photography.  Seeing that he had passed down his love of photography, my dad gave me my first nice camera for Christmas that year.  I spent my spring semester of college learning about digital photography- light, editing in Photoshop, and composition.  I practiced taking photos and used my parents as models to practice what I'd learned.

On April 29, 2013 our lives were turned upside down after my dad was killed in a farming accident.  I always thought having the pictures of my parents would be a nice keepsake, but after losing my dad, I gained a new appreciation for photography.

Those pictures froze a moment in time that I will always be able to look back at. Words cannot describe how much it means to me to be able to look back and see his smile and how happy my parents were together.  The pictures I took have become one of my most treasured, irreplaceable items.

I absolutely love photography.

The ability to capture life’s moments is something we too often take for granted. This is why I take pictures. To help others create memories of their family.
